Pilot Flying J opens new travel center in Lamar, Colorado, re-opens Indiana facility

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Pilot Flying J is opening a Pilot Travel Center in Lamar, Colorado, and is reopening at travel center in Remington, Indiana.

“We’re thrilled to serve these communities and contribute to the local economy,” said Ken Parent, president of Pilot Flying J.

The Lamar travel center offers full amenities for area residents and the traveling public, while adding approximately 80 local jobs and other economic benefits to the community.

Offerings include:

  • 10 gasoline fueling positions and six diesel lanes with high-speed pumps for quicker refueling
  • PJ Fresh, fast casual food offerings, including PJ Fresh Pizza, soup, sandwiches and hot dogs
  • Premium coffee and cappuccino selections
  • Dunkin Donuts with drive-through
  • Western Union
  • Driver’s lounge
  • CAT Scale
  • Everyday products

The new facility at 708 North Main Street will be Pilot Flying J’s fourth location in Colorado and is expected to contribute $2.2 million annually in state and local tax revenues.

The travel center, located at 4154 West U.S. Highway 24, has been under construction since August 2017 and now features more than 12,000 square feet of upgraded food offerings and amenities – including a new Taco Bell – for guests on the road and area residents.

The travel center employs 90 community residents, and brings 37 new jobs to the community with its expanded offerings.

“Our goal at Pilot Flying J is to connect people and places with comfort, care and a smile at every stop,” Parent said. “Upgrading our facilities is critical to achieving this goal. The advancements made at our Remington location are a great example of the more than 40 Facility Enhancement Projects planned across the country for this year.”

The newly renovated building in Remington features many new offerings, including:

  • New Taco Bell
  • Enhanced Subway
  • PJ Fresh (fast casual food offerings including PJ Fresh Pizza, Pilot’s Best Gourmet Coffees, soups, salads, sandwiches and bakery items)
  • Seven new showers
  • New restrooms
  • New driver’s lounge
  • Upgraded layout
  • Modern interior finishes and exterior lighting

This spring, Pilot Flying J plans to also add a Truck Care Service Center at the Remington

Facility with critical maintenance services.

In January 2017, Pilot Flying J announced a $485-million investment to renovate existing locations over the next five years as part of its Facility Enhancement Program. In 2017, the company completed enhancement projects at more than 50 locations across the U.S.

At any Pilot Flying J location, guests can unlock special deals to redeem in-store with the myOffers feature in the myPilot app, in addition to the myRewards loyalty program. MyPilot app users also have access to trip planners and features for professional drivers including mobile fueling, parking reservations and real-time parking availability with Live Parking.

The combined network of more than 750 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers across North America serves more than 1.2 million customers daily.
