ANN ARBOR, Mich. — TNT and Con-way Inc. said Monday they will expand their ties by offering a new export freight-shipping service.
The new service for heavier shipments will include road pickup and delivery in Europe and the United States, connected by air service. It will expand intercontinental service that the two companies launched last April.
Con-way's less-than-truckload operation will manage the pickup of U.S. shipments, which will be loaded onto air cargo service at New York's Kennedy International Airport. TNT will manage customs clearance and distribution from Liege Airport in Belgium and delivery to European destinations by air and road.
Con-way and Netherlands-based TNT said shipment times would be about three to six days.
