BUFFALO, N.Y. — Rudy Arnette has pleaded not guilty to charges he beat and stabbed to death co-driver Robert Hardy, 46, Jan. 26, as the two were driving a Falcon Transport truck from Vermont to Ohio.

Arnette, 46, remains in jail without bond and faces a second-degree murder charge.

He’s accused of killing 43-year-old Robert Hardy as the two were heading from Vermont to Ohio.

The incident occurred on Interstate 90 just south of Buffalo.

State Police Captain Michael P. Nigrelli told The Buffalo News just after the incident that it was not known what provoked the altercation nor why the men who shared the big rig’s cab did not care for one another.

“There are some indications that the two did not like working with each other. Through interviews with company personnel, we were able to determine that there was a personality conflict,” the officer said.
