GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Volvo Group, parent company of Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks, both with headquarters here, Wednesday announced several management appointments.
Carl Heikel was named senior vice president for international operations for Mack Trucks effective April 1.
He replaces Ron Huibers, who is moving to Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) to become senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Scott Kress will become vice president of sales at VTNA.
Russ Tedder has been named senior vice president for truck remarketing.
The appointments were made by Denny Slagle, president and CEO of both VTNA and Mack.
Heikel will direct the activities of the Mack International Operations group throughout its extensive worldwide distribution network and will report to Slagle.
Mack sells and services trucks in 45 countries.
International sales have been an important part of Mack’s business for decades, and last year the company was the largest North American truck exporter, Slagle said.
“The Mack brand is particularly strong in Latin America and Australia, and in recent years the company has focused on growing its presence in markets such as Africa and the Middle East,” he said.
Heikel has more than three decades of industry experience in Europe and Latin America, including senior management positions in Sweden, Peru, Brazil and Mexico.
Since 2004, he has served as president and CEO of Arrow Truck Sales.
Huibers has been with the Volvo Group for 15 years, and has served in a number of senior management positions in sales, domestic and international distribution, business development/strategy and financial services.
Kress has more than 30 years of industry experience with several original equipment manufacturers, many of which have been spent working with major North American trucking fleets.
He joined Volvo Trucks North America in 2002 and served most recently as senior vice president for sales and marketing.
Tedder has more than 30 years of industry experience, working on both the OEM and carrier sides of the business.
He joined Volvo Trucks North America in 1986, and served most recently as vice president for fleet sales.
