LOS ANGELES — Vision Industries of El Segundo today turned over the keys to the world’s first zero emission hydrogen fuel cell-electric Class 8 truck, according to a news release from the Port of Los Angeles.

The truck will be tested over the next year at the ports of L.A. and Long Beach by trucking company Total Transportation Services Inc.

The project was funded through the ports’ Technology Advancement Program.

The hydrogen fuel cell truck was on display during the ceremonial “turning over of the keys.”

In attendance were federal, state and local officials including State Assembly members Bonnie Lowenthal, Warren Furutani and Betsy Butler.
