Diesel prices fall for 4th straight week
Weekly retail on-highway diesel prices fell for the fourth straight week, according to the Energy Information Agency of the U.S. Department of Energy.
For the week of May 16, the national average price of a gallon of diesel was $2.189, down 3.8 cents from last week's price of $2.227.
The largest drop regionally was on the West Coast, where the average price of $2.397 was 8.4 cents lower than last week's $2.481. That was followed by the Rocky Mountain region, where at-the-pump prices went from $2.318 last week to $2.267 Monday, May 16, a drop of 5.1 cents.
The Lower Atlantic region saw a drop of 3.8 cents, from $2.179 to $2.141. On the East Coast, prices dropped 3.3 cents and on the Gulf Coast they declined 3.2 cents.
