Volvo deliveries up 22 percent through April
GOTHENBURG, Sweeden — Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies increased 22 percent through April this year, compared with the year-earlier period.
Deliveries from Mack rose 57 percent, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were up 11 percent. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased 23 percent during the period.
“Total deliveries” are not the same as retail sales; deliveries are the truck which during April 2005 were either transferred to dealer inventories or delivered directly to customers.
During the past 12 months, order bookings for the Group’s truck operations were 17 percent higher compared with the preceding year. Orders were down 3 percent in Europe, while the order bookings in North America increased 47 percent.
