AMES, Iowa — Iowa's transportation agency is showcasing its history online.

The state Department of Transportation says artifacts, architecture, arts and awards have been cataloged online through a virtual museum.

Iowa DOT librarian Leighton Christiansen, who is curating the museum, says the access allows employees and the public to expand their knowledge about the department.

New items will be added to the website on a regular basis. The agency is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
