Based in Rydal, GA, Kennesaw Transportation Inc. is an employee-owned company founded in 1981. The key goal of the company is to build a family-like atmosphere and develop relationships, not only with customers but also drivers and other employees.

Kennesaw offers both long-haul and local routes and employs team and solo drivers. In addition, the company now has a trainer/trainee program for new drivers.

Driver Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid CDL Class A license
  • Must have a valid Social Security Card
  • Must have no positives or refusals of drug or alcohol test within last three years
  • Must pass a mandatory DOT drug screen
  • Must produce a DOT Medical Card

New Equipment

All trucks are less than three years old, and all have automatic transmissions. Omnitraacs with e-logs is standard, and the company has a pet and rider policy.

Pay and bonuses


Base pay for team drivers is 54 cents per mile (CPM) split for all miles. Split monthly mileage bonuses are achieved at 18,000 miles (3 CPM); 21,000 miles (6 CPM); and 24,000 miles (9 CPM). Teams can earn up to 63 CPM.

Available team bonuses include a $5,000 sign-on bonus; a $10,000 five-year seniority bonus for each driver; a $1,000 solo driver referral bonus; and a $2,000 team driver referral bonus.


Base pay for solo drivers starts at 44 CPM, with monthly mileage bonuses at 10,000 miles (5 CPM) and 12,000 miles (3 CPM).

Available bonuses for solo drivers include a $2,500 sign-on bonus; a $10,000 five-year seniority bonus; a $1,000 solo driver referral bonus; and a $2,000 team drivers referral bonus.


Local service areas include Richmond, VA, and High Point, NC; local drivers must live within one hour of the local service area. Starting pay is $18 per hour.

All new drivers undergo a three-day paid orientation class with meals provided, and transportation and lodging are available. New drivers that provide their own transportation to orientation will be reimbursed for fuel.

Newly Remodeled Driver Lounge

The Kennesaw terminal features a newly remodeled driver lounge, which includes a TV and recliners for relaxing; Wi-Fi internet access is provided. In addition, drivers have access to showers, as well as washers and dryers.
