Expediter Services’ third IN-SITE 2020 Webinar to feature fleet owners and owner-operators finding success across business cycles

There’s no question the challenges related to starting or growing a trucking business have become more complex since the arrival of COVID-19. As a leader in capacity solutions and ownership opportunities within the trucking industry, Expediter Services (ES) continues to keep a keen eye on the changes in the transportation market along with the demands now facing current and aspiring trucking entrepreneurs.

On Tuesday, September 29, as part of the company’s IN-SITE 2020 Series, ES will be presenting a webinar that is geared to speak directly to the needs of owner-operators, independent contract drivers, fleet owners and professional drivers who are aspiring to become trucking business owners.

The webinar, entitled Trucking in the COVID-19 Era: Insights From Real Truck Owners, will focus on how fleet owners and owner-operators in the ES Community have adjusted to the challenges and leveraged the opportunities that they have encountered so far in the COVID-19 era. The one-hour, live broadcast of the webinar will take place at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Sept. 29. The online replay for the third webinar in the IN-SITE 2020 Webinar Series will be available approximately two hours following the conclusion of the live event. Both the live event and replay are free to all registrants.

Leah Shaver, the President and CEO of the National Transportation Institute, will serve as the moderator for the discussion with the panelists. Leah, who also serves as a host on SiriusXM’s Road Dog Trucking Radio Channel 146, will be leading the discussion in the style of a fireside chat, sharing the stories of the business owners on the panel and detailing how they have utilized the resources of the ES Community in working to overcome the obstacles they have encountered in running their businesses.

The ES Community members who will be a part of the upcoming webinar are fleet owners Joe and Carol Shelton, business owner Amy Williams and owner-operator Jacobus Nel. Jason Williams, the President of ES, and Jeff Tacker, the Chief Operating Officer of ES, will also be with Ms. Shaver as part of the expert panel.

The Sheltons entered the trucking industry in 2010 and began working with ES as part of the couple’s effort to build a trucking business. In 2011, the Sheltons became fleet owners, operating their own LLC while utilizing the programs and services ES offers to small business owners in trucking. Amy Williams began building her small business through the 150 Business Challenge, the collaboration between ES and the Women In Trucking Association to establish 150 women-owned businesses in transportation. Jacobus Nel became an owner-operator earlier this year, starting his trucking business through the ES Path To Ownership program.

Registrations for the live event in September and access to the replay of the webinar are available through the following link:
