The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) honors Bison Transport and Mill Creek Motor Freight as winners of the 2025 Fleet Safety Awards grand prize winners. The announcement was made Tuesday, March 3, during the association’s annual conference, held in Orlando, Florida. The annual contest is sponsored by Great West Casualty Co. and Gallagher insurance.
Bison Transport, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, earned top honors in the large carrier division (total annual mileage of 25 million or more), and Mill Creek Motor Freight, based in Ayr, Ontario, Canada, took the grand prize in the small carrier division (total annual mileage of less than 25 million). According to TCA, both carriers demonstrated exceptional safety programs and impressive accident frequency ratios over the last year.
“Great West Casualty Co. is proud to support the TCA Fleet Safety Awards and recognize carriers that set the standard for safety excellence across our industry,” said Steve Ponder, Great West’s senior vice president. “Mill Creek Motor Freight and Bison Transport exemplify the commitment, accountability and leadership it takes to keep our roads safer for everyone.”
Andy Engardio, transportation vertical leader for Gallagher, echoed these sentiments.
“Gallagher is honored to partner with TCA in celebrating fleets that prioritize safety at every level of their operations,” he said. “These grand prize winners demonstrate that strong safety cultures not only protect drivers and the public but also strengthen the entire trucking industry.”
Both companies, as well as all carriers that placed in the top three of their mileage-based divisions, will be recognized again during TCA’s 2026 Safety & Security Meeting, to be held June 7-9 in Oklahoma City.
