FMCSA drops HERO ELD from its list of Registered Devices.

WASHINGTON — The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is removing a HERO ELD from its list of Registered Devices.

On April 2, FMCSA removed the following ELD from the list of registered ELDs due to the company’s failure to meet the minimum requirements established in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.

  • ELD Name — HERO ELD
  • Model Number — HRS
  • ELD Identifier — HRS205
  • ELD Provider — HERO ELD INC.
Remedy

Motor carriers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELD with a compliant ELD. Motor carriers and drivers who use the ELD listed above must take the following actions:

  • Discontinue using the revoked ELD and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.
  • Replace the revoked ELD with a compliant ELD from the Registered Devices list before June 2.
