OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Oklahoma authorities announced on Thursday that they have found the truck they were looking for in connection with a fatal crash that killed one of their own.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) announced that its investigators identified the truck in question they were looking for after Wednesday’s fatal crash that killed Trooper Vernon Brake, Mercedes Bayne, and a four-year-old girl.
OHP announced that the driver of the truck “is cooperating with investigators and is proving to be a valuable witness.”
According to the original OHP release, a vehicle traveling southbound on I-35 lost control for an unknown reason and crossed the center cable barrier.
The vehicle struck Brake, who was traveling in the northbound lanes just south of Hefner Road in Oklahoma City.
All three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
