One person dead after hitting semi in rural Arkansas
One person is dead after crash with big rig in Arkansas.

CLAY COUNTY, Ark. — One person is dead after a crash in Arkansas involving an 18-wheeler.

According to an Arkansas State Police (ASP) fatal crash summary, Richard Allen Futrell, 25, of Piggott, Ark., was driving behind a big rig in a Volvo XC90.

The semi truck was making a right turn, but Futrell failed to slow down and struck the right side of the semi truck’s trailer, according to the ASP.

The crash occurred on Highway 119 near County Road 508 in rural Clay County near Rector at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday.

ASP stated in its report that the roadway was dry and the weather conditions were clear.
