Texas trucker dies in Louisiana crash
Authorities in Louisiana are looking into a single-vehicle crash that killed the driver of an 18-wheeler.

DESOTO PARISH, La. – Authorities in Louisiana are looking into a single-vehicle crash that killed the driver of an 18-wheeler.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) issued a release that stated on Sunday morning, at approximately 6:00 a.m., tis Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 175 near Louisiana Highway 5. The crash claimed the life of 35-year-old Delon Perkins of Tyler, Texas.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Perkins’ 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 175. when the big rig exited the roadway and overturned.

LSP said Perkins, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. LSP added that impairment is not suspected; however, standard toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
