Idaho police looking into crash involving semi truck
Idaho police are investigating a Sunday morning crash involving a semi truck.

NAMPA, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) say it is investigating a vehicle collision involving a big rig that occurred Sunday morning.

ISP stated in a release that the incident occurred at approximately 5:48 a.m. on Sunday May 24, 2026, at the westbound off-ramp at mile marker 33 on I-84 in Nampa.

Police say a Mazda 5 was traveling westbound on I-84 and collided with a Volvo semi that was pulling a Great Dane trailer.

The Mazda was driven by a 23-year old male from Ontario, Oregon. He was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance. The Volvo driven by a 54-year old male from Beaverton, Oregon was not transported.

Police say both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Westbound lanes of travel on I-84 were blocked for approximately one and a half hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
