MADISON PARISH, La. — Authorities in Louisiana say a serious crash on Interstate 20 in Delta caused severe injuries to a pair of big rig drivers.

According to information from Delta, Louisiana first responders, the Madison Parish E911 center received the first call of two 18-wheelers that were involved in a crash at mile marker 185.5 going west in Delta, west of the Delta overpass.

First responders at the scene found that one of the drivers was unable to get out of the truck. That is when those who arrived initially requested fire rescue for assistance. Once first responders were able to extract the driver, he was then taken by an Air Med helicopter that landed on the interstate to get further medical treatment. There is a huge spill on the interstate.

The crash remains under investigation.
