NEENAH, Wis. — J. J. Keller & Associates Inc. is announcing the availability of the free J. J. Keller ERG App.

“The app provides fast, reliable digital access to the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG), complementing the printed guide required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and supporting emergency readiness anytime, anywhere,” the company said.

Easy to Use App in High Pressure Situations

Designed for use by drivers, emergency responders, and hazardous materials professionals, the J. J. Keller ERG App delivers ERG content in an easy‑to‑navigate digital format, ensuring critical information is always within reach, even in high‑pressure situations.

The app also aligns with the PHMSA’s proposed rule allowing electronic access to emergency response information, in addition to the required printed ERG. By pairing print and digital resources, organizations can enhance preparedness while supporting regulatory compliance.

An Extra Layer of Readiness

“Having emergency response information available in multiple formats adds an extra layer of readiness,” said Laura Johnston, J. J. Keller associate director of digital commerce. “This free app makes it easier to access the ERG quickly in the field. It doesn’t replace the printed guide; it strengthens its effectiveness.”

Key Features

Key features of the J. J. Keller ERG App include:

  • Simple Navigation – Indexed, color‑coded, and easy to use.
  • UN Number Search – Quickly find the correct guide.
  • Visual Identification Tools – Help identify hazardous materials at a glance.
  • Complete ERG Content – Full ERG available anytime.
  • Offline Access – No cellular signal required.
  • Light and Dark Modes – Readable in any lighting conditions.

“The J. J. Keller ERG App is intended to work alongside the printed Emergency Response Guidebook, giving users flexibility and confidence when responding to incidents involving hazardous materials,” the company said.
