1 dead after crash with semi truck in Kentucky
A Kentucky woman was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler last week.

LOWMANSVILLE, Ky. – One woman is dead after a Thursday crash with an 18-wheeler in Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) stated in a media release that on Thursday, June 18, at approximately 7:35 a.m., units responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a passenger car and a tractor-trailer. The collision occurred on U.S 23 in the Lomansville community of Lawrence County.

KSP’s preliminary investigation indicates that Johnathan Haney, 22, was operating a 2012 Kia Sorento southbound on U.S. 23 when the vehicle crossed the median into northbound lanes and collided with a 2005 Volvo tractor-trailer.

As a result of the collision, the passenger of the Kia, Kaitlyn Delong, 20, of Lovely, Kentucky, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner.

Haney was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where police report that he remains in critical condition. The operator of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
