SURREY, BC — Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is announcing it has completed its acquisition of New West Truck Centres, bringing seven New West locations in Calgary, Balzac, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Taber, Medicine Hat and Cranbrook into the Velocity network.

“New West’s customers know the people at their local branch, and that isn’t changing,” said Scott Zeppenfeldt, COO, Velocity. “The same teams will still be there, with more parts, service and support behind them. I’m looking forward to getting out to every location this month to meet our new teammates and customers.”

All seven locations will become part of Velocity Truck Centres Canada (VTC), a Velocity Vehicle Group company.

New West Truck Centres

New West has served southern Alberta and BC trucking customers for more than a decade. It began in 2014 when the Calgary and Lethbridge Freightliner dealerships became New West Freightliner, and later grew with the addition of Dunlop Truck Centres, adding Western Star sales and service, Cranbrook and the Rocky Mountain Collision body shop. Today New West offers Freightliner and Western Star sales, parts, service and collision repair.

The Spirit Lives On

“Western Canada is an important part of our growth, and New West has built strong relationships across southern Alberta and BC,” said Brad Fauvre, CEO and founder of Velocity Vehicle Group. “Greg Stahl was a true friend, and he poured his heart and soul into building New West. We will be sure that his spirit lives on with us as we welcome the New West team into Velocity.”

The acquisition builds on Velocity’s entry into Canada in 2023 with First Truck Centre and P&R Truck Centres. About 300 New West team members join Velocity, bringing VTC to roughly 1,000 employees and 24 locations, the largest coverage of any dealer group in Western Canada.

“Our family has gotten to know the Velocity management team very well over this process,” said Ed Stahl, owner of New West. We’re confident they’ll carry on the quality and service New West customers count on, and that our employees and customers are in good hands.”
