CAVE CITY, Ky. – A roadside crash on Interstate 65 has left two juveniles dead and an adult driver in critical condition.
Kentucky State Police (KSP) said in a media release that at approximately 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, KSP received a call regarding an injury collision on Interstate 65 near the 53.2-mile marker.
KSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by Aleah Kroger, 35, of Dayton, Ohio, was traveling north on Interstate 65 near the 53 mile marker. At that point, the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and collided with a semi truck that was parked on the right shoulder, according to KSP’s release.
Two juvenile passengers from Kroger’s vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, KSP said. Kroger was transported to T.J. Sampson Community Hospital and then to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where she remains in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
