KENTWOOD, La. – One person has died in a crash that involved an 18-wheeler in Louisiana.
According to a press release from the Louisiana State Police (LSP), shortly after 7:30 a.m. on May 28, 2026, troopers began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA 1057 near Milburn Grace Road in Tangipahoa Parish. The crash reportedly claimed the life of 43-year-old Jerome Warren of Franklinton.
LSP says its preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Warren, was traveling east on LA 1057.
LSP said the Chevrolet traveled off the right side of the road. As a result, Warren overcorrected and traveled back across the road and into the westbound lane of LA 1057. The right side of the Chevrolet then struck a 2021 Western Star tractor-trailer traveling west on LA 1057. Police said after impact, both vehicles left the roadway and entered the tree line.
Warren, who was reportedly unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
