Police say speed a factor in New York big rig rollover crash
NYSP is looking into a big rig rollover crash on the Thruway.

According to a release from the New York State Police (NYSP), the agency is looking into a
commercial vehicle crash on the Thruway at Exit B1 in Schodack, N.Y.

NYSP says its investigation revealed a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by Victor Barroso-Cipriano, 36, of Bridgeport, Conn., lost control while traveling westbound on the Thruway (I-90) Berksire Spur and rolled over.

NYSP said that speed “appears to be a contributing factor.”

No injuries were reported.

The Exit B1 westbound deceleration ramp and eastbound acceleration ramps are blocked for response and vehicle recovery.

There have been no significant traffic delays, NYSP stated it its release.

Barroso-Cipriano was issued tickets for vehicle and traffic law violations.
