VERONA, N.Y. — A trucker was arrested on Tuesday for DWI after a crash in the overnight hours in New York.
According to a release from the New York State Police (NYSP), on June 2, 2026, the agency arrested Alexis Balbin Mazo, 25, of Boston, Massachusetts, for DWI resulting from a crash on the New York State Thruway (I-90) in Verona, Oneida County.
NYSP said its investigation revealed that at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 2, Mazo was operating a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer westbound when he made an unsafe lane change, hitting a delineator and guard rail, rolling over and coming to a stop on the right side embankment.
Troopers detected signs of impairment, the release stated, so standardized field sobriety tests were administered, which Mazo reportedly failed. He was placed under arrest for DWI and transported for processing, where police say he registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.12%
No injuries were reported.
