ERDA, Utah — Two people are dead after a semi-truck collided with a Corvette near Erda, Utah in Tooele County on Wednesday.

According to KUTV, the crash was first reported just after 10 a.m. at the junction between SR-179 and Parachute Park Lane.

The Chevy Corvette was turning left from Parachute Lane onto SR-179 when it turned in front of a northbound semi-truck and was struck, according to Lt. Cameron Roden. The two men in the Corvette were killed in the crash, Lt. Roden said. The driver was 66 years old and the passenger was 65 years old.

The driver of the semi was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. There is currently no information regarding the semi driver’s name or company.

This is an on-going investigation and no other information is available at this time.
