DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. — Two people are dead after a crash in Missouri involving an 18-wheeler on Sunday.
According to a crash summary from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 36 and Highway 33, approximately two miles west of Osborn at around noon on Sunday.
Police say a 2012 Peterbilt, driven by a 44-year-old man from Renton, Wash. was headed northbound on Highway 33. When the big rig reached the intersection of Highway 36, a 2007 Saturn heading east driven by a 42-year-old female from Chillicothe, Mo., struck the big rig.
The driver and a passenger in the Saturn, a 43-year-old man from St. Joseph, Mo., were both pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not disclosed if the semi truck driver had suffered any injuries in the crash.
