ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — A Kansas City woman suffered serious injuries in a crash involving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 29 in the St. Joseph, Mo., city limits. Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said in its report that the crash occurred on Tuesday night at approximately 10:19 p.m.
MSHP stated in its fatal crash summary that a semi truck driven by an 80-year-old man from Cheyenne, Wyo., was rolling northbound on I-29 and slowing to a stop.
A 2004 Honda CRV, driven by a 24-year-old from Kansas City was also going northbound.
MHSP said the woman failed to observe stopped traffic ahead of her and struck the left rear of the semi truck’s trailer.
The driver of the semi truck was uninjured and the rig was undamaged.
