The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is putting a greater emphasis on education and professional development, starting with a new name and expanded mission for one of its committees.
During TCA’s Fall Business Meetings, held September 1-2 in conjunction with the association’s Call on Washington, the Recruitment, Retention & Human Resources Committee officially became the Education Committee.
The renamed committee will take a broader role in providing strategic guidance and industry insight to support educational programs, certifications and learning resources designed to advance professionalism, leadership, safety and operational excellence throughout the truckload industry.
Over the past two years, TCA has expanded its educational offerings through virtual learning series, on-demand courses and collaboration with industry leaders, building a stronger foundation for member learning and professional development.
“We are proud of what has been accomplished and excited to continue this momentum as we develop education that delivers practical value to fleets, leaders and professionals throughout the industry,” said Elizabeth Nicholson, TCA’s director of education and training.
As part of its expanded mission, the Education Committee will establish seven subcommittees, each focusing on a specific area:
- Education Award
- Safety
- Leadership
- Technology
- Recruitment & Retention
- Owner/Operators
- Refrigerated Operations
Members may participate in multiple subcommittees, which will meet as needed to support program development and provide industry perspective.
