SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. and ORLANDO, Fla. — BeyondTrucks is launching its Trailer Yard Module, an advanced real-time trailer management capability.

“To ensure high service levels, private and specialized fleets have a tremendous amount of capital tied up in trailers,” said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks. “Improving utilization is extremely valuable both financially and operationally, and it starts with better information, by knowing where trailers are, their current status and whether they’re suitable for a specific activity.“

The new functionality is designed to provide private and specialized fleets deeper visibility into trailer location and status, as well as advanced real-time trailer pool management capabilities to help improve utilization.

Real-Time Data

“Our Trailer Yard Module aggregates real-time data from dispatch activities, trailer tracking technology and physical yard checks to streamline coordination and feeds into the AI-enabled optimization capabilities of our platform to manage both costs and service levels,” Galland  said.

According to BeyondTrucks, existing yard management and transportation management systems lack data and functionality needed to improve operations and support real-time decision-making. At the core of the problem is their inability to appropriately capture the status of the trailer. They often rely on assumptions based on the last dispatched locations in a TMS, or separate trailer tracking technology. That forces dispatchers and yard teams to physically walk yards to reconcile TMS and trailer tracking locations with the physical status of a trailer in the yard.

Trailer Yard Management that Drives Dispatch Decisions

“We’re focused on trailer yard management capabilities that directly drive dispatch decisions,” said Mahriah Alf, head of product at BeyondTrucks. “That includes coordinating yard teams for preloading, linking driver workflows to trailer status, tracking where trailers are actually located, and feeding that information into real-time dispatch decisions and optimization algorithms. In the BeyondTrucks Trailer Yard Module, this data becomes a foundation, not just for better day-to-day execution, but also for future AI-driven planning and optimization in private and specialty fleet operations.”

Trailer Yard Module

“The Trailer Yard Module is delivered as an integrated capability within the BeyondTrucks platform,” the company said. “For customers without an existing yard management solution, it provides essential yard and trailer visibility. For larger fleets with an established solution, the BeyondTrucks platform complements and interfaces directly with the existing system to improve the load planning, dispatch, and back-office operations.”

Key Trailer Yard Module Features
  • Location visibility to compare last dispatched location, physically tracked location, and yard check location, and alert both dispatchers and yard teams to discrepancies.
  • Trailer status visibility to provide real-time granular trailer state updates collected by drivers or in physical yard checks.
  • Driver & yard workflow integration to initiate wash, maintenance, repositioning, or pre-loading activities.
  • Driver decision making for leveraging alerts and validation with BeyondTrucks to prevent drivers from making the wrong trailer choices.
  • Dispatch decision making for leveraging compatibility checks and alerts within the BeyondTrucks dispatch portal to streamline processes and avoid dispatch errors.
  • Load planning optimization for users of the BeyondTrucks optimization solution to incorporate real time granular trailer state, location and availability data into the load planning process.

“With real-time visibility, specialty and private fleets can assign the right trailer with confidence,” said Natasha Martinez, head of fleet success at BeyondTrucks. “The BeyondTrucks Trailer Yard Module addresses long-standing gaps between yard and traditional transportation management systems by connecting real-time operational data directly into our platform, enabling dispatchers to make faster, more accurate decisions.”
