FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A report from the Indiana State Police (ISP) outlined details of a brief enforcement operation concentrated in the Fort Wayne region.

The operation was in motion on Friday night and lasted approximately four hours.

The focus of the operation, according to a release from ISP, was “traffic enforcement and identifying criminal activity throughout Fort Wayne.”

The operation began with targeted efforts in the area of Goshen Road and Coliseum Boulevard. As the detail progressed, patrol coverage expanded into additional neighborhoods across the city.

ISP says despite what it called “challenging weather conditions,” the operation resulted in dozens of traffic warnings and 12 traffic-related arrests.

ISP says it also made four drug-related arrests.

“Our Troopers continue to demonstrate the value of proactive policing,” Fort Wayne District Commander, Lt. Corey Culler stated. “Their dedication, even in difficult conditions, directly contributes to safer streets and a safer community for everyone.”

ISP also conducted multiple operations in the Lafayette District including targeted enforcement patrols concentrating on several high traffic corridors in Tippecanoe, Warren, White, Fountain, and Clinton counties.

Police say during these patrols, troopers conducted enforcement operations on Interstate 65, Interstate 74, U.S. 231, and State Road 63. Troopers issued a total of 32 traffic tickets and 95 warnings during the enforcement period.

Troopers also made two arrests for Operating While Intoxicated during the enforcement efforts. In addition, one driver was cited for operating with a suspended driver’s license, and one child restraint violation was documented.
