Diesel prices continue to drop by double digits.
The national price for a gallon of diesel fell this week from $5.059 to $4.832.
As has been the case for the last several weeks, every reporting region, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, has seen a decline in the price of diesel.
The West Coast less California, dropped the most from $5.519 to $5.238 per gallon, followed by the West Coast Region which fell from $6.074 to $5.809.
The Midwest Region also saw a 26-cent drop from $5.011 to $4.751.
The Associated Press reported that ship traffic has picked up in the Strait of Hormuz since Iran and the U.S. signed an interim deal to end a war that constricted global oil supplies and fueled inflation, but questions surrounding control of the vital waterway and whether vessels will be charged tolls to cross it could interfere with negotiations to forge a lasting peace.
AP also reported on Tuesday morning that oil prices eased amid negotiations between the U.S. and Iran to end their war. The price for a barrel of U.S. crude fell 1.1% to $73.07. The price for a barrel of Brent crude, the international standard, fell 1.2% to $76.97.
