After modest decrease last week, diesel prices plummet
The average price for a gallon of diesel fell this week by just over 20 cents per gallon.

After a modest decrease last week, diesel prices dropped dramatically this week.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the national average price for a gallon of diesel fell sharply, by more than 20 cents per gallon from $5.608 to $5.403.

Every reporting region fell by double digits except for one.

The region that decreased the most was the Gulf Coast Region which dropped by just over 24 cents per gallon from $5.310 to $5.069.

Oil prices slipped and shares were mostly higher Tuesday in Europe and Asia as U.S.-Iran talks aimed at ending the war remained in doubt.

The price for a barrel of Brent crude oil dipped 0.7% to $94.81. U.S. benchmark crude oil lost 0.9% to $86.63 per barrel, according to a report from the Associated Press on Tuesday.

The California Region dropped by just under 23 and a half cents per gallon. The Lower Atlantic Region fell by just over 22 cents per gallon while the Midwest Region decreased by 21 cents, and the West Coast fell by over 20 cents.
