PELHAM, Ala. — What a way to start a weekend, especially for an Alabama police department.
The Pelham, Alabama police department took advantage of an opportunity to poke a little fun at itself after a Dunkin’ semi-truck broke down in front of its building headquarters on Friday — and did so via its Facebook page.
“Well… this is one way to get the police department’s attention,” the post read.
“A Dunkin’ truck broke down right in front of the Pelham Police Department today,” Pelham PD stated. “We’re not saying officers responded faster than usual… but when a truck full of donuts is involved, you don’t take any chances.”
The comments section of the Facebook post also did not disappoint, with several chiming in with their favorite cops-donuts jokes.
One comment read, “Q: What did the officer say when the Dunkin’ truck broke down? A: ‘Nobody move! We’ve got a vehicle full of evidence, and I’m gonna need a dozen.’”
Another wrote, “Situation was glazed but is now under control.”
While the post did not specify how long the truck had to remain in place, the Pelham PD did say, “Thankfully, a wrecker was able to assist and get things moving again. No donuts were harmed during this incident.”
