FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. — A man was killed on Interstate 40 in Faulkner County, Arkansas on Monday after a wrong-way crash with an 18-wheeler.
According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary, Brett Springfield, 29, of Alexander was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-40 near the 135 mile-marker in Mayflower.
Springfield’s 2025 Toyota Rav4 was struck by a 2020 Freightliner, and was killed.
There were no details given as to why Springfield was driving the wrong way. There was also no word if the driver of the Freightliner suffered any injuries in the crash.
Weather conditions at the time of the incident were reportedly clear and dry.
