Diesel prices plunge, some regions report more than 20-cent drops
For the third straight week, diesel prices fell.

For the third straight week, diesel prices fell. This week, prices fell sharply — by 17 cents per gallon.

The price of a gallon of diesel dropped from $4.475 to $4.305 according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly report.

All reporting regions show a major drop in price led by the Rocky Mountain Region falling nearly 23 cents per gallon from $4.557 to $4.329.

Meanwhile, the Lower Atlantic Region and the Midwest Region fell by 21 cents per gallon.

The Lower Atlantic dropped under four dollars per gallon from $4.151 to $3.932.

The Midwest plunged from $4.352 to $4.135.

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that oil prices were calmer following Monday’s bounce back. Brent crude oil, the international standard, edged down by less than 0.1% to $94.96 per barrel, though that’s still well above the roughly $70 level it was at before the war.
