KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth is announcing several new enhancements to its Class 8 truck lineup, including a redesigned interior, advanced infotainment display, wireless phone charging and the transition of its electronic parking brake from an available option to a standard feature.

“The updates are designed to provide drivers with greater comfort, convenience and functionality while creating a more modern in-cab experience,” Kenworth said.

The new features complement PACCAR Connect, which PACCAR announced earlier this month at the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition (MCE). PACCAR Connect integrates connected technology and applications into the truck, while Kenworth’s latest interior updates further enhance the in-cab experience.

New In-Cab Technology

At the center of Kenworth’s redesigned interior is a new 15-inch horizontal high-definition touchscreen, the largest in the industry. The display provides an interactive interface for key in-cab functions, including PACCAR Connect, which features a suite of applications and tools that deliver a seamless experience, as well as radio and HVAC controls, and more. Its ergonomic position makes it easy for drivers to reach, while a handhold surrounding the display provides additional support when interacting with the touchscreen.

“Together, these features provide added stability, helping drivers interact with the display confidently and comfortably, whether navigating a jobsite or the open road,” Kenworth said.

Redesigned Interior

The redesigned interior features a modern, restyled look with premium wood trim accents and new color options for Kenworth’s Diamond VIT and Vantage trim packages. The Vantage interior is available in Charcoal, while the Diamond interior is available in Charcoal or Titanium. Additional cab updates include new USB-C charging ports, updated HVAC louvers and flexible options for configuring the instrument panel and storage areas.

Wireless phone charging is now standard, giving drivers a convenient way to charge compatible devices without connecting a cable. The charger is positioned next to the steering wheel for easy access and features a phone cubby designed to hold the device securely in place.

“Being The Driver’s Truck means continually listening to our customers and finding ways to improve their experience,” said Kevin Haygood, Kenworth’s assistant general manager for sales and marketing. “These latest enhancements bring together innovative technology and thoughtful design to deliver a more comfortable, convenient, and connected cab environment.”

Electronic Parking Brake Now Standard

The Electronic Parking Brake, previously available as an option, is now standard on all new 2.1m Class 8 Kenworth trucks. The Electronic Parking Brake system replaces traditional red-and-yellow push/pull knobs with new ergonomic switches that feature LEDs clearly showing park brake status at a glance. The easy-to-activate design maintains the recognizable symbols while simplifying operation and helping to reduce fatigue and distraction during frequent stops.

The new in-cab features and interior options are currently available on new truck orders, with full PACCAR Connect capabilities becoming available in Kenworth trucks beginning early 2027. For more information, click here.
