Trucker falls asleep, crashes rig in Missouri
A driver suffered minor injuries in a big rig crash in Missouri.

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. — A truck driver is nursing minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash overnight Monday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) the driver of a 2000 Freightliner “fell asleep at the wheel” while traveling in the lane two of Highway 67 in St. Francios County, Mo.

The southbound rig traveled off the right side of the roadway. The rig’s right side hit a rock bluff and a small cluster of trees.

The incident occurred just south of Route Y. The driver suffered minor injuries according to the MSHP report.
