A tractor-trailer driver is dead after his truck smashed through a guardrail and flipped in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.

WEST BATON ROUGE, La. — A tractor-trailer driver is dead after his truck smashed through a guardrail and flipped in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, early Saturday morning, May 7.

WBRZ reports that Arturo Vaquera Martinez, 54, of Texas was driving a 2015 Freightliner in the northbound lanes of LA 415 when, for unknown reasons, he failed to navigate an entrance ramp curve to US 190 westbound.

The truck then went off the road through the guardrail before overturning. Martinez was declared dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
