Advantage Truck Group (ATG) has donated a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia truck to the diesel heavy equipment technology program at White Mountains Community College (WMCC) in Littleton, N.H.
“We are grateful to ATG for this donation,” said Marc Pouliot, professor and program coordinator for the WMCC diesel heavy equipment technology program. “Having a newer, fully operational truck expands hands-on learning opportunities for our students, including advanced training on emissions systems, drivelines, electrical diagnostics and axle alignments. Working with this Freightliner gives our students critical experience adapting to various industry standards. By using plug-in diagnostic computers that communicate directly with engine, emissions and HVAC control modules, they learn how to navigate these software systems.”
Long Standing Partnership
This donation builds upon ATG’s long-standing partnership with the college. The company previously provided a Detroit DD15 engine to the program, actively serves on the program’s advisory board and offers cooperative education and career opportunities for students.
“We are excited to donate this Freightliner to support the diesel technology program at WMCC,” said Christopher Pentedemos, executive vice president of network service operations for ATG. “ATG is committed to the education and training of diesel technicians at every level, and donations like this are crucial to providing the hands-on learning experiences students need to prepare for this career.”
Through its four New Hampshire locations in Lancaster, Lebanon, Manchester and Seabrook, along with its dealerships in Massachusetts and Vermont, ATG is committed to addressing the diesel technician shortage and supporting workforce development efforts throughout the region.
