LOWELL, Ind. — Indiana State Police (ISP) veered a bit from their normal enforcement efforts this week and did something they never encourage others to do, and shared the incident on its social media.
“While we ALWAYS discourage picking up hitchhikers, Sgt. Jamerson and Trooper Galvan-Jones couldn’t pass up this little guy who just needed a ride off the interstate,” ISP stated.
ISP said the small kitten was found in the median of Interstate 94 and “very scared.”
“It is highly unlikely that he was able to cross the highway during the evening rush hour without getting hit, leading us to believe some heartless person intentionally dropped him off against the median wall,” ISP stated.
While a name for the feline was not disclosed, ISP did say the kitten is safe now and has a new home.
