Diesel prices fell for the third straight week, this time by just over five cents per gallon.

Even after a huge drop last week sandwiched between two modest decreases, the price of a gallon of diesel still averages more than five dollars per gallon at $5.351, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (US EIA) which published its weekly report on Tuesday.

Every reporting region reported a decrease in its diesel price per gallon, except the Rocky Mountain Region, which went up by more than five and a half cents per gallon from $5.213 to $5.270.

This comes on the heels of an Associated Press report on Tuesday morning that BP’s profits more than doubled in the first quarter of this year in the shadows of the war in Iran.

BP earned $3.84 billion, or $1.47 per share, for the quarter. A year earlier the London-based oil and gas company earned $687 million, or 26 cents per share, according to the Associated Press’ report.

The largest decreases came from California which dropped my nearly 10 cents per gallon from $7.325 to $7.228 while the West Coast saw a nine-cent decrease from $6.620 to $6.530. The West Coast less California feel by nearly eight and a half cents per gallon from $6.010 to $5.926.
