OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Firefighters in Oklahoma City were busy on Thursday responding to a pair of accidents involving big rigs.

According to information from the Oklahoma City Fire Department (OKCFD), a semi truck versus train collision occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. near Newcastle Rd and S. Rockwell Ave.

Authorities say the semi, which was carrying rock, was attempting to cross the tracks when it was struck by a train.

The driver was evaluated on scene and then transported for further treatment.

A separate incident involving an overturned tanker occurred at approximately 1:57 PM near SW 119th St and Williamson Farm Blvd.

OKCFD said this was a single-vehicle accident which likely happened because “the roadway is narrow, and the driver veered slightly off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn.”

The driver was also transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

There is no updated information on either driver’s medical condition.
