TRACY Calif. — A trucker is facing DUI charges after an incident in California.

According to a post on its social media account, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that a commercial driver left the roadway and ended up in a field.

“Thankfully, no one was hurt—but the reason behind it is serious,” CHP stated.

CHP says the driver was contacted and arrested for DUI, operating at nearly three times the legal limit for a passenger vehicle and six times beyond the stricter limit for commercial drivers.

California law states that the maximum Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limit is 0.04.

“A fully loaded big rig isn’t just a vehicle—it’s thousands of pounds with the potential for devastating consequences in the wrong hands,” CHP stated. “No load, deadline, or excuse is worth driving impaired.”
