WHITE COUNTY, Ind. — Weather was not kind to certain parts of Indiana on Monday.

On Monday, between the 185-mile marker and the 200-mile marker, Indiana State Patrol (ISP) troopers from the Lafayette District responded to numerous crashes, slide-offs, and motorist assists.

Snowfall, coupled with severe crosswinds and blowing snow caused near white-out conditions and an ice-covered Interstate 65 in both directions, according to information released Monday afternoon.

ISP issued some preliminary numbers of how many incidents it responded to due to weather on Monday.

According to an ISP release, between 5:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., troopers  responded to 15 crashes, 11 slide-offs and assisted four motorists.

“Traffic continues to be slow-moving as the interstate remains icy,” ISP stated.

Relief could come soon after with one more day today of frigid conditions.

Weather forecasts call for more snow showers, though isolated, early Tuesday morning with highs in the mid 20’s. Tuesday night should be with steady temperature in the mid 20’s as well. Wednesday should see temperatures above freezing.
