TROY, Mich. — David Giroux has been appointed ArvinMeritor Inc.’s director of global brand management and marketing communications for the Americas. In this role, he is responsible for directing the company’s worldwide branding efforts, as well as the strategic direction and market execution for the company’s Truck, Industrial and Aftermarket and Trailer business segments’ marketing communications activities in North and South America, including media and public relations, advertising, shows and exhibits, sales collateral and social media communications.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — With a monthly increase not seen since February 1999, the Ceridian-UCLA Pulse of Commerce Index (PCI) climbed 3.1 percent in May. The increase represents the strongest indicator yet from the PCI that the U.S. economy is on the upswing, according to the UCLA Anderson School of Management report.
LOMBARD, Ill. — An annual benchmark report released Thursday shows the continued impact of the economic slowdown on the U.S. logistics industry. The 21st Annual “State of Logistics Report” reveals that, continuing the decline reported in 2008, business logistics costs fell to 7.7 percent of U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2009, as compared to 9.3 percent the previous year.
