HENDERSON, Ky. – A fatal crash in Kentucky involving a big rig is under investigation by the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
According to a release by the agency, it is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on Green Street and Borax Drive in Henderson.
KSP says it was notified by Henderson City Police just after 2 p.m., requesting the agency to investigate and reconstruct a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred around 1:56 p.m.
The agency’s preliminary investigation revealed a black 1996 Kenworth bobtail operated by Lester J. Jones, 55, of Sturgis, Kentucky, was traveling eastbound on Green Street. A grey Ford Bronco operated by James J. Jobe, 66 of Corydon, Ky. and passenger Jason P. Jobe, 21 of Corydon entered the intersection from US 41-A / Borax Drive when Jones struck the driver’s side of Jobe’s vehicle.
James Jobe was pronounced dead on-scene and passenger Jason Jobe was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He is listed in stable condition. Jones was not injured in the collision.
KSP stated the investigation is still in its early stages and reconstructionists have not yet determined fault in the collision.
