NEW YORK — The Trucking Association of New York (TANY) is working to help trucking companies and drivers prepare now for anticipated road closures, restricted access zones, congestion and delivery delays that could impact freight movement across the metro region during the tournament.
“The World Cup is coming to New York, and while excitement builds, the essential work of keeping freight moving doesn’t slow down,” TANY said. “TANY is actively gathering and sharing the latest available information to help members stay ahead of any operational impacts and keep their businesses running smoothly throughout the event period. This resource page will be updated regularly as new details emerge, so you always have what you need to plan with confidence and avoid surprises on the road.”
World Cup Resource Hub
To help the industry prepare and minimize disruptions, TANY has launched a new World Cup Resource Hub that consolidates traffic updates, operational information and delivery alternatives all in one place.
The resource hub is designed to help the industry stay ahead of these challenges and keep freight moving efficiently during one of the largest events ever hosted in the region. It also provides resources from Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) to train drivers to recognize and report signs of human trafficking, as major international sporting events like the World Cup create conditions often exploited by human traffickers.
