The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has announced Jenna Walker as its May 2026 Member of the Month. Walker is an owner-operator for Walker Sand and Stone Inc.

For Walker, trucking is a legacy built on family, hard work and a deep-rooted passion for the industry that began long before she ever got behind the wheel.

The day after she turned 18, Walker wasted no time getting started. She earned her CDL permit and immediately immersed herself in the business at Walker Sand & Stone Inc. She rode along with every operator who would let her, learning firsthand from experienced drivers, absorbing knowledge and building confidence.

It wasn’t long before she took the wheel herself and never looked back.

Today, Walker is a professional driver handling real-world, demanding jobs for Walker Sand & Stone. From daily hauls to specialized equipment moves — including a recent lowboy haul transporting a Caterpillar CAT 972 — she continues to prove herself in a field that requires both skill and grit. She does it alongside the very people who helped shape her journey, including her father, John Walker, and a longtime mentor she calls “DD,” someone she grew up watching and learning from.

Like most members of her family, Walker loves Western Star trucks.

The Walker family’s relationship with Western Star dates back to 1974. Today, their fleet includes powerful 49X trucks equipped with Detroit DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines. These machines are built for demanding off-road work while delivering everyday reliability.

Walker’s current favorite is a 49X with a DD16 — and true to her bold and authentic style, her new truck is the one she spec’d herself in pink.

Investing in a new generation of trucking professionals is important to Walker.

While she’s is proud of her roots in the trucking industry, what truly sets Walker apart is the way she is helping shape the future. She is deeply involved in community outreach and actively works to inspire the next generation, especially young women, to consider careers in trucking. Whether speaking locally or connecting through social media, Walker brings a fresh and relatable voice to the industry.

Walker has built a strong presence as a social influencer, using her platform to highlight both the realities and the rewards of life on the road. Her pink Western Star is more than eye-catching, and it represents individuality, confidence and a platform to raise awareness for breast cancer.

She balances strength with authenticity, showing there is no single way to look or be in trucking.

Adding another layer to Walker’s story is her love for animals, especially her dog, Katie Belle, who often rides shotgun. Together, they offer a glimpse into a side of trucking many people never see, one filled with connection, companionship and pride in the journey.

Walker’s work has earned her recognition not only within her company, but also across the broader trucking community. She is helping reshape perceptions one mile at a time and showing others what is possible when passion meets purpose.

When asked what advice she has for other women looking to join the industry, Walker shares:

“Don’t wait for permission. If you’re willing to learn and put in the work, there’s absolutely a place for you here. Be confident in who you are and don’t be afraid to stand out.”

Walker represents the best of what trucking is today and where it’s headed next.
